Leadership matters. Schools and school districts led by strong, aligned, collaborative, and cohesive leadership teams are foundational to developing healthy schools that meet the needs of educators, students, and families. Dr. Kimberly Pietsch Miller has developed and led teams in six diverse Ohio school districts. She can assess and identify your local challenges and develop a system to coach and build your leadership teams for success so that your schools work.
Alignment
Establishing clear goals and objectives.
What goals do you want to accomplish in your schools and district? Do those goals drive your actions? Are those goals clear to every member of and stakeholder in your organization? Clarity of purpose, goals, and values allows each member of a school to work collaboratively to achieve the mission. Dr. Miller has a proven track record of engaging all stakeholders to develop, implement and achieve clear statements of purpose and actionable strategic plans. She can support your school or district to do the same so that your schools work.
Communication
Engaging the entire community.
Schools cannot work if the entire community is not engaged. In many communities, the school district is the one unifying organization. As such, it is critical that school leaders find ways to positively engage the community in the mission of the district. From individual schools and neighborhoods to entire communities, Dr. Miller has successfully established systems and processes to meaningfully engage employees, students, parents/guardians, families, as well as business and community leaders in the schools and districts she has led. She will provide you with the tools and systems for you to engage your community so that your schools work.
About Kimberly
Dr. Kimberly Pietsch Miller is an experienced and visionary public school educator with 34 years of experience including 12 years as a classroom teacher and 22 years as an administrator across all levels and types of schools.
Dr. Miller has served as the superintendent/CEO of Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools and superintendent of Bexley City Schools. Prior to earning positions as superintendent, Miller served in roles including chief academic officer at Dublin City Schools, assistant superintendent at Loveland City Schools, principal of Indian Hill Middle School, and as an elementary assistant principal in the Lakota Local School District. Additionally, Dr. Miller has served as a coordinator of gifted programming and standards-based education consultant with the Hamilton County Educational Service Center. Dr. Miller has taught graduate-level leadership courses at The Ohio State University and Capital University. Dr. Miller is an adjunct professor with Ashland University, where she also serves as a Women in Leadership advisory board member.
Dr. Miller’s skills include aligning districts through strategic planning and developing leadership teams in order to promote collaboration and create opportunities for students. Additional competencies include systems thinking and development, building healthy and positive organizations, transformational leadership, using data to achieve results, and engaging stakeholders including parents/guardians, business partners, and students.
Dr. Miller earned her Bachelor of Science in English Education from The Ohio State University, her Master of Education in Leadership from the University of Cincinnati, and her Doctor of Education in Leadership from Miami University (Ohio). Miller is a passionate advocate for students at all levels.
